Lokrum is a very beautiful island. It is located in the Adriatic Sea some 600 metres just off the coast of Dubrovnik. You can only get there by sea, so take a public ferry from the city quay or rent a water taxi. Don’t be surprised, as you will be met on Lokrum by beautiful local peacocks.

An old legend says that the Benedictine monks put a spell on the island when they were obliged to leave it. In addition to the remained monastery and a wonderful botanical garden modest list of attractions of the island include French Fort Royal Castle.
