These two webcams are from the territory of The Roque de los Muchachos Observatory, located in Garafía on the island of La Palma, one of the Canary Islands. View from the main building nearby the MAGIC Telescopes.

Now, a few words about these two MAGIC Telescopes. “MAGIC” is an abbreviation from Major Atmospheric Gamma-ray Imaging Cherenkov Telescopes. They can detect particles released by gamma rays by means of the Cherenkov radiation (named after famous Soviet scientist Pavel Cherenkov who won the Nobel Prize in 1958 for his experiments with gamma rays detecting).
