Kasperske Hory. Square

Kašperské Hory is a very small and picturesque Czech town, which lies about 65 kilometers from Plzeň. The first written record about it dates back to the year 1330.

The main landmark of the town is the Kašperk castle, which was built by Karel IV to guard the border and protect the trade routes and local gold mines.

There are also two museums in the town. The first one is the Museum of Šumava. The second one — The Museum of Historical Motorcycles and bicycles — also has an interesting exposition of Czech Wooden Toys and a Brewery.
