Krkonoše’s highest mountain (and also the highest mountain in the Czech republic) is Snow Mountain (or just Sněžka, height 1602 m). Pec pod Sněžkou, a small town at the base of Snow Mountain, is one of the most well-known and most frequented mountain resorts in the country. It is located within two hours drive the capital city.
The Krkonoše Mountains are the highest range of the country. The National Park of Krkonoše lies in the same area and is listed as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve site.
