Zakynthos Island. View to the Island of Marathonisi

View from the island of Zakynthos to the uninhabited island of Marathonisi. The name “Marathonisi” means actually “fennel-island”.

You can rent a boat and visit Marathonisi by yourself or join a tourist group. In any case remember to take fresh water and some snacks with you because there is no civilization there, what means no cafes and no Greek food.

The island attracts people mostly with its unspoiled and beautiful nature. Just imagine – wild olive trees, turtles on the rocks basking in the sun, wonderful beaches and caves with purest seawater.

Zakynthos itself has also remained relatively untouched when it comes to the islands ecology and landscape. Only to fabrics are located there (olive oil and vine production).

The island can be reached by airplane or by ferry.
