Vlorë. The beach near the hotel Zhironi

Holidays in the Balkans are not limited to Croatia and Montenegro. Albania also has beautiful beaches on the border of the Adriatic and Ionian seas. We are in the resort of Vlorё, more precisely, in its southern suburbs. The camera near Zhironi Hotel shows one of the beaches, the Bay of Vlorё and its southern border, Karaburun Peninsula.

A military base and a national park peacefully coexist on the biggest peninsula of the country. Karaburun is a border point of the two seas and is washed by the Adriatic Sea from the north and the Ionian Sea from the south. It is home to rare endangered species of animals, loggerhead turtles and monk seals.

This Albanian resort has a variety of objects for tourists interested in architecture and ancient places, such as castles, churches with monasteries, museums, as well as the ancient amphitheater, Orikum, built in the first century BC.

Since 2008, Karaburun has actively been built up with wind turbines, which are to provide the district with electricity.
