Mar del Plata. The Seaside Resort

Mar del Plata is one of the seaside resorts in Argentina, it has gained worldwide fame thanks to the International Film Festival, which has been held annually in November since 1954. All the festival prizes are named after Astor Piazzola, an Argentinean musician and composer, born in Mar del Plata. In 1962, the Soviet actress, Nadezhda Rumyantseva, won the prize for the best female role, Tosya, in the “Girls” film.

There are a lot of cinemas built in Mar del Plata where visitors can enjoy films from around the world. The camera is installed between the two cinemas—Mar del Plata and Atlas and America. On the screen, we can see the coast of the resort town, with its beaches and highways.

Most of the buildings belong to hotels. This is not surprising because every year the resort is visited by more than seven million people, the population of Mar del Plata is only 600,000.

You can see Bristol, the main beach of the resort. Next to it, casinos and hotels, parks and squares are built. In the background is the Demetrio Elíades skyscraper, built in 1969. Its height is 125 meters, the antenna adds another 20 meters.
