Sydney. Sydney Cricket Ground

In front of us is a tribune and a field of the Sydney Cricket Ground. It hosts cricket Twenty20 (pronounced “Twenty-Twenty”), Australian football, and rugby matches. Well-known Sydney teams like Cricket NSW and the Sydney Swans are based there.

Sydney Cricket Ground has a rich history. At the end of the XIX century, on the site of the present stadium, there was a field and several small stands. During the last renovation in 1988, the capacity of the stadium was increased to 44 thousand people.

The stadium is famous thanks to concerts. In 1996, a Michael Jackson concert gathered almost 90 thousand people there, and in 1993, Madonna’s film-concert was recorded in the presence of 165 million viewers!

A film studio, Fox Studios Australia, as well as a large entertainment center, Moore Park Showground, are next to the stadium.
