Bad Bleiberg. Gailtal Valley

Gailtal Valley is located to the west of the city of Villach and attracts tourists with its unusual contrast of steep high cliffs and flat meadows. Eco tourism is especially popular here.

We are looking at the valley from a high mountain, Dobratsch, from ZAMG tower. As you can see, at the foot of the mountain, in the valley, there are many Austrian municipalities: Nötsch im Gailtal, Labientschach, Wertschach, Semmering and others. All these towns are interconnected by the track 111, which runs along the border with Italy.

You can get to the valley either by car or by airplane; there is a small airport in Nötsch im Gailtal.

In addition to the natural beauty of Austria, you can find man-made attractions here, such as churches and parishes with beautiful medieval architecture.
