Brandenberg. Community Panorama
We can see a small village surrounded by Tyrolean hills. The first mention of it is found in the historical documents of the beginning of the last millennium. Despite its 900-year-old age, Brandenberg remaines a small community with a population of 1,500 inhabitants. In addition to the village itself, the community in the Brandenberger Valley also includes the Aschau district.
The camera, at the southern border of the village and forest, is directed toward the center of Brandenberg, which consists of several houses, shops, hotels, restaurants, a primary school and St. George’s Church. We can see its tall tower in the center of the picture.
The Roman Catholic church of Brandenberg is an architectural monument. As early as 1266, a branch of the parish church of Alpbach appeared in Brandenberg. The building we see on the screen refers to the Middle Ages. Its elements were built in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. The church is maintained in perfect condition and pleases the eye of random travelers who wander into Brandenberg.
Other interesting buildings are also religious institutions — the Church of the Sorrowful Mother of God, in the Aschau district, and the chapel of St. Hubert, which can be found near the mountain hut, Erzherzog-Johann-Klause.
