Brixen im Thale. Funicular, 1,300 m

Brixen im Thale is a resort that doesn’t have its own chic ski slopes, but it does not need them. The convenient location of the town gives the tourists access to 418 km of excellent trails at two large skiing regions: Ski area Kitzbühel- Kirchberg and SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental.

And from here, you can reach Kitzbühel and Wörgl, just in case you suddenly want to change the atmosphere, feel the drive of a popular ski resort, dine in a new place, etc.

If you don’t feel like leaving Brixen im Thale, you can explore the local slopes. There are less than a dozen tracks, served by a pair of lifts. Something according to the mood. Not sure that the Austrians honor the memory of the Nazi soldiers somehow, but here’s one remarkable fact, the best German sniper of World War II was born in Brixen im Thale.
