Haag. View of the Main Square from the Church

The camera in the center of the Austrian Haag shows us the main square from the tower of St Michael’s Church. This major urban building appeared here in the fifteenth century. The construction of fortifications around the Gothic church was not originally planned, but then several additional fortifications were built with the support of the local population.

In the middle of the last century, the church underwent major restoration work; the interior of the parish was restored and supplemented with new relics. The church on top of the hill is not forgotten in the twenty-first century. In 2001, there was a new organ, with 36 registers, established.

Another major construction and a real pride of Haag is the castle of Salaberg, in the southwestern part of the city. Thanks to its picturesque interiors and beautiful gardens, as well as St. Michael’s Church, Haag has become a popular tourist destination in the county of Amstetten.
