Innsbruck. Peak Hafelekarspitze

Mount Hafelekarspitze, also known as the Northern Chain, is located in the northern part of Innsbruck. With the help of a network of cableways, the summit is connected to the Austrian city and is accessible to travelers all year round. The height of the mountain is 2,334 meters above sea level. The rotary camera, installed on the upper station of Hafelekarbahn, shows us the peak of the mountain, as well as the panorama of Innsbruck.

You can conquer Hafelekarspitze on foot, without help of vehicles, but this requires some training and experience. For Innsbruck guests fascinated by the North Chain, there is an alternative. The journey to the summit became even more comfortable when the new Hafelekarbahn funicular was built. It connects Seegrube Station with Hafelekar Station (at a height of 2,256 meters). The panoramic cabins of Seegrubenbahn can seat up to 95 passengers, and Hafelekarbahn can seat up to 69 passengers.

From the upper station of Hafelekar, tourists can reach Hafelekarspitze in a matter of minutes. In addition, a unique observatory of cosmic radiation, run by the University of Innsbruck, was built near the station.
