Ischgl. Church of St. Nicholas

This is Ischgl, a world renowned ski resort, which used to be an inconspicuous village in the Tyrolean Alps. Here, you can still see classical Austrian houses and real masterpieces of medieval architecture. The camera in the western part of the village is directed toward the center of Ischgl, where the tall tower of the Church of St. Nicholas is best seen, against the background of the buildings.

First, in the center of Ischgl, there was a Chapel of St. Nicholas, the mention of which was found in the documents of 1443. The modern baroque church was built between the years 1755 and 1757. It’s interesting that the high gothic bell tower was built a little earlier than the main church building.

The church is open for visiting. Numerous tourists, who come to Ischgl to go skiing or stroll through the mountain peaks in the summer months, are happy to visit this architectural landmark. The interior of the church is maintained in perfect condition and is periodically restored.

On the right side of the screen, you can see one of the many lifts of the ski resort, and to the left are power lines.
