Ischgl. Mount Palinkopf

Palinkopf is the northern peak of the Samnaun Alps (Samnaungruppe). There are cable cars, thanks to which tourists can start an exciting journey in Alpine skiing, in several directions.

As the border of Switzerland and Austria passes along the top of the mountain chain, depending on the chosen descent, athletes can find themselves either in Swiss Samnaun or in the Austrian region of Ischgl, Fimbattal. There is a single ski pass in this ski area. A one-day ski pass is about 50 euros (the price may vary slightly depending on the season).

The Palinkopf has a height of 2,864 meters above sea level. There are 2 cableways, Gampenbahn and Zeblasbahn, and, until 1996, Palinkopfbahn also operated there. The existing chair lifts can carry more than 2,000 passengers per hour.

There are ski routes on the neighboring peaks of the mountain chain as well, and they are also served by cable cars. For example, you can go down from Palinkopf to Samnaun and take a cable car to the top of Greitspitz.
