Kufstein. Town Panorama

Kufstein is the last Austrian town along the Inntal Autobahn, on the way to Munich, Germany. This and other major roads around Kufstein can be seen on the screen. The panoramic camera is installed in the eastern part of town on the slopes of Kaisergebirge.

Tyrol, like many other Austrian lands, is famous for its ski resorts. There are no such resorts in Kufstein and its suburbs. Tourists are happy to visit this ancient town with its architectural sights.

One of the symbols of Kufstein, and the whole of Tyrol, is the fortress of the same name, built on a high hill. It is mentioned for the first time in the documents of 1205. The invaders who conquered this fortress in different centuries did not destroy it but instead fortified it, so it has been well preserved to our day. At the fortress, tourists can see ancient artifacts, as well as visit the exhibition of contemporary art.

In the caves around the town, evidence was found that indicated a man had settled in the modern Kufstein area about 30,000 years ago. Various objects of that era are also exhibited in the fortress of Kufstein.
