Mittersill. View of the Municipality of Bramberg am Wildkogel
This is Pass Thurn. We are looking at one of the municipalities in the surroundings of Mittersill Pass. Bramberg am Wildkogel is part of the second largest in Europe, Hohe Tauern National Park.
This small mountain village was formed over 1,000 years ago and, throughout its history, changed the name several times. In the past, the economy of this municipality was mainly built around the extraction of ore but, towards the end of the nineteenth century, this industry has been completely abandoned.
Today, Bramberg am Wildkogel is one of the many tourist destinations in the district of Zell am See, where the inhabitants of megacities can escape from the city noise and relax.
Leisure activities are also popular; there is an illuminated toboggan run 14 kilometers in length, lighted skating and skiing trails, a swimming pool with a large children’s playground and summer schools of paragliding and hang gliding.
The camera is at Panoramagasthof Hohe Brücke, which offers rooms with excellent panoramic views and also has its own restaurant with traditional Austrian cuisine.
