Mörtschach. View of the Village from Mount Klabinishof

The camera in the eastern part of Mörtschach is directed towards Winklern. In the background, we can see Roter-Turm (2702 meters above sea level). It means “Red Tower.” The rocks on the top have a reddish tint.

Roter-Turm is a popular place with climbers. You can stop in one of the guest cabins, such as Karlsbaderhütte. The way to the top can be debilitating and even dangerous without such rest points.

Another high peak is Mount Shpittskofel. We can see it in the center. It was climbed as early as in the eighteenth century.

Several routs are laid at Shpittskofel through the popular mountain huts — Kerschbaumeralm, Linderhütte and the others, located at different heights. You can book them by phone.
