Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Kohlmais Cableway
Saalbach-Hinterglemm is a popular ski resort. The lift you see on the screen, was built in 1989. There are 5 cabins, with a total capacity of up to 15 passengers, which simultaneously go to the upper station.
In the late 1980s, 20 supports were installed on the slope of the mountain, which provided the movement of cabins to 2,361 meters. During this journey, skiers and snowboarders rise, from an altitude of 1,029 meters above sea level, another 765 meters. This ski lift serves up to 1,200 guests of Saalbach-Hinterglemm per hour, due to its high speed of 7 meters per second.
If you want to come to the Austrian Alps for a few days, or even weeks, then you should buy a Saalbach ticket, which includes several ski resorts: Saalbach Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn. A weekly ski pass costs about € 236.
At the foot of the mountain, we can see the lower station, Kohlmaisgipfelbahn, as well as the panorama of the Saalbach-Hinterglemm community, with its beautiful houses, and the high tower of the church of St. Nicholas and Apostle Bartholomew.
