The camera of the holiday house, Buchau-Hütte, located at the ski resort of Sankt Johann-Alpendorf, is directed towards Sankt Johann im Pongau, Austria. The city, with a population of eleven thousand people, is the major tourist center to where guests come all the year round.

You can use ski slopes in winter and mountain walks, cycling and river tours are popular here in summer. On top of Gernkogel, from where we are looking at the city, is a family entertainment park, Geisterberg.

But not only natural beauty and outdoor activities attract tourists from around the world to St Johann im Pongau. You can also see historic monuments and architecture in the city. Among the most famous sights of the city are the chapel of St. Anne, the Roman Catholic Church of St. John and the ancient Arthurstollen Tunnel, five kilometers long.
