Schladming. Hochwurzen Station

Hochwurzen, built on the slopes of the mountain of the same name, is one of the closest to the Schladming ski resorts. Hochvurzen is located at an altitude of 1,849 meters above sea level; we are at the lower station of the cableway leading to the top.

In 2013, a new funicular, with comfortable ten-seat cabins, was built on the site of the old lift of the late 1960s. Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen connects two stations, separated from each other by 2 kilometers. It takes only 6 minutes to rise vertically to the height of 707 meters. During the descent from the mountain, you can not only learn different routes, but also stop at intermediate points, such as Seiterhütte and Celtic-Bar.

The camera at Hochwurzen Station shows us a couple of the main resort routes, hotels and shops built next to the station, as well as the glacier tops in the background.

In the summer, cows graze peacefully and a few travelers walk along green slopes of Hochvurzen Mountain. In the winter, the situation fundamentally changes when hiking is replaced by mountain skiing.
