Schladming. Preunegg Valley

Preunegg is an inconspicuous valley in the vicinity of the Schladming ski resort. There are several guest houses and restaurants in the valley. Through the valley flows a stream, Preuneggbach. A bridge was built across this stream in the Strick district. Despite its small size, the wooden Strickbrücke is popular with tourists, and the bridge is often depicted on all kinds of postcards and other Schladming souvenirs.

The camera is located on the eastern side of the valley and is pointed toward the Preuneggjet cableway. The ski slope you see on the screen is quite new, as the cabin lift was built here in 2010, and the infrastructure around its lower station is still being built up.

The funicular of the Doppelmayr Company was built on the site of the old lift, in 1971, which was a two-seater drag lift. Now vacationers travel the distance of more than 2 kilometers in 6.5 minutes. Near the bottom station, several hotels, such as Bankwirt, have been built. Because of its convenient location near the ski slopes, the rooms here cost about 100 euros per day.

We are looking at the Preunegg Valley from the ski area of Hochwurzen. Near the camera, there are also several hotels and lifts to the top of Hochwurzen.
