St. Gilgen. Three Lakes of Schafberg

We are going to the historical region of Austria, Salzkammergut. The panoramic camera at the top of Schafberg shows us several lakes around St. Gilgen. This community is only 30 kilometers from Salzburg, so if you come to this Austrian city, you should visit the natural landmark of this country.

Schafberg is only 1,783 meters above sea level. But thanks to its height, it was possible to build a unique rack railway and also open a high, mountainous hotel, Schafbergspitze, which is more than 150 years.

An unusual railway was built in the 19th century, and in almost 100 years, one of the stations was modernized. Locomotives bring small trailers to the top of the mountain.

This camera shows three beautiful lakes, Wolfgangsee, Attersee, and Mondsee. Austrian villages around them have become modern resorts.
