Phnom Penh. The Royal Palace

This webcam is located in the charming city of Phnom Penh, the capital and largest city of Cambodia. It captures the view of the beautiful Royal Palace, which lies in the picturesque surroundings, right at the confluence of the Tonle Sap River and the Mekong River.

The Royal Palace is a popular tourist attraction in Phnom Penh. Its visitors can see the Silver Pagoda, the Throne Hall and Chan Chhaya Pavilion. The Silver Pagoda offers exhibition of the national treasures, especially precious Buddha statues. The Throne Hall is still in use today as a place for religious and royal ceremonies, like coronations and weddings. Chan Chhaya Pavilion means ” The Moonlight Pavilion” and serves until present time as a place for traditional Khmer dance.

Phnom Penh is far from being a top destination for tourists. Its hotels usually have many free rooms even during the best season. Still, the city has many attractions and a very rich history with many tragic pages…
