The small Canadian town of Canmore consists of only a few streets, but it is also a popular tourist destination. It is located in the valley among the tall peaks of the Canadian Rockies, located in the Banff National Park. The park attracts tourists with its stunning lakes, forest paths, and of course, ski slopes.
Canmore is one of the staging points on the way to the ski resorts, so it’s not surprising that there are many restaurants and cafes, as well as shops in the city center. Tourists can also visit the local museum, gallery, or research center of the Canadian Rockies.
We are in the very center of Canmore on 8th Street, its main street. On the opposite side of the street is the Canmore Hotel, and right behind it is the office of the city’s mayor.
Canmore is known as an eco-resort, but 150 years ago, it was a mining town. The 1988 Winter Olympics gave powerful impetus to the development of a new direction in its economy.
