Canmore is a resort town situated between the high Canadian mountains. The camera is set at The Drake Inn. There are a lot of hotels in Canmore because the city is a popular tourist destination all year round.
In the summer months, you can play golf or go on a journey through the mountains that you can see in the background, and in the winter, snowboarding and mountain skiing fans come to the slopes of these mountains. You can stay either in the picturesque suburb of Canmore or in its center. A double room at The Drake Inn costs 74 Canadian dollars (50 euros).
The camera at the intersection of Railway Avenue and 8th Street is directed toward the Grotto Mountain (it is 2,706 meters above sea level). We can see the traffic on the central roads of Canmore, as well as one of the city’s attractions, the Elevation Place sports center. Locals go in for swimming, climbing, and to go to the gym there.
In the building on the opposite side of the intersection, the administration of the Bow Valley Provincial Park is located. Opened in 1959, the park offers the following types of recreation:
- bird watching (eagles, hawks, golden eagles);
- camping;
- canoeing, kayaking, and rafting;
- fishing (trout in the river Bow);
- horseback riding;
- mountain bike;
- mountaineering;
- snowshoes;
- watching wildlife (elk, deer, sheep, beavers, muskrats, bears, cougars and wolves);
- windsurfing (near the Barrier and Lac des Arcs lakes).
