Njivice. Panorama of the Resort

The camera in the restaurant, Stari Ribar (Old Fisherman), in the Croatian resort of Njivice, displays the western coast of the island of Krk. The resort is conditionally divided into two parts; in the background of the image, you can see the center of the village with numerous hotels and cafes, and closer to us, by the bank behind the trees, you can see tents and motorhomes in Njivice, camping.

The name of the restaurant that provides us with such a wonderful view of the resort is connected with the main industry of the village, fishing. Now, tourism is the leading branch, but anyone can rent tackle and a boat to go fishing on the high seas.

The tourist industry of Njivice began with the construction of Luka Hotel in 1930. It is interesting that the guests of the resort can still stay at this hotel, which changed its name to Jadran. Because of its glorious history, the rooms in this hotel are more expensive than in similar accommodation options, so for a double room with a view of the sea, you will pay 150 euros.

Njivice differs from other resorts of the island of Krk, due to its proximity to the lake, one of the two freshwater reservoirs on the entire island.
