Vukovar. Water Tower

If you are even slightly interested in the history of Croatia (maybe you have chanced to hear an enthusiastic monologue of a guide), you probably know that the Romans used to rule here and many Croatian cities have been known since the heyday of the Roman Empire.

Vukovar is one such ancient city. In front of you is one of its peculiar sights, symbols of modern history of the city, a water tower with traces of shells of the war for Croatian independence. This tower is a witness to the battle for Vukovar, in which the local population lost about a thousand inhabitants.
