Mikulasovice. Tanečnice Observation Tower
Tanečnice observation tower is located on the hill of the same name near the Czech-German border. The wooded slopes of the mountains are part of the Lusatian Highlands. The height of the mountain, Tanechnitse, is 600 meters above sea level.
Tanečnice is the northernmost observation tower in the country. It is built of brick, granite and basalt. The tower stands on the site of an old wooden structure that served for geodetic research in this area of the Czech Republic. The tower height is 16 meters. The visitors will have to overcome 138 steps to climb to the top.
Just outside of the tower is a restaurant and a local landmark, the old well, 25 meters deep. This camera is installed on the tower and shows us parking in front of the restaurant.
The nearest town is Mikulášovice. This town is situated four kilometers from the tower. Tourists can also be interested in the ski resort of Sebnitz, which is only nine kilometers from Germany.
