We can see one of the most northerly ports of Denmark. From here, you can get to the Swedish and Norwegian towns by ferry across the Strait of Skagerrak. The port of Hirtshals was built 100 years ago, although the first plans of building the port in Hirtshals appeared at the beginning of the nineteenth century.

Fishing has been the main function of the port for many years. Today, you can see huge passenger and cargo vessels in the harbor, although fishing boats still go out into the North Sea from the pier of Hirtshals.

As you can see, the port has many marinas and is constantly expanding. In the 1990s, additional places for large-sized vessels were created there. In 1997, a new dock, Trailer Quay, was built there. Its length is 110 meters and the depth is 8.5 meters.

For tourists who travel to Scandinavia, Hirtshals is one of the intermediate points. A passenger ticket to the Norwegian city of Larvik costs about 40 euros. If you travel by car, the price increases by 100 euros.
