Les Sables-d'Olonne. Grande Beach

We can see the central place in the French resort of Les Sables-d’Olonne. The camera is installed in the tourist center, in a building where you can find information on the coastal city and a casino. In the foreground of the image, we can see the sports complex, Piscine du Remblai, with an outdoor swimming pool and Bar de la Piscine. But, the main object of our attention is Grande Beach.

The beach stretches for a mile and a half along the coast. It is separated from the noisy street by a beautiful embankment, along which crowds of tourists walk in the high season. Due to its size, Grande is able to accommodate any number of tourists. The beach has all the necessary infrastructure for a good holiday, such as showers, locker rooms, sunbeds, volleyball and children’s areas.

It is interesting that the town became a tourist place two hundred years ago. By 1900, there were three dozen hotels here, and the French started visiting the resort of Le Sabl-d’Olon regularly.

There are also other beaches in the resort town, such as des Présidents, Tanchet, the naturist beach of Sauveterre and the wild beach of Côte Sauvage.
