Metz. Panoramic View over the City and the Moselle River

Current webcam captures beautiful view over the ancient Metz. This city is famous for its long and complicated history. Architectural and cultural legacy of the Celts, Gauls, Romans, Prussians and Frenchmen can be felt when walking down the streets of this old place.

Many branches of the charming Moselle river create several islands within the borders of Metz, thus making it called “Small Venice”. The most remarkable of local landmarks are the Opera-Theater of Metz Metropole on the Comedy square, the former Governor’s Palace and the Saint-Pierre-aux-Nonnains basilica.

The historical center of Metz is also full of touristic sites. The most famous one is the Gothic Saint Stephen’s Cathedral. This church has one of the highest naves and the largest quantity of stained glass windows in the world.
