We are heading to German Bavaria, known not only for its foamy drinks, but also for the high Alpine mountains. They combine perfectly, and we can see a restaurant built near the top of Predigtstuhl and named after this mountain.

The height of Predigtstuhl is 1,630 meters above sea level. In addition to the aforementioned Bergrestaurant Predigtstuhl, with its excellent dishes of German cuisine and the best sorts of Bavarian foam drink, the Predigtstuhlbahn cableway station was built near the top of the mountain at the beginning of the last century. This lift is the oldest active funicular in the whole world!

In the last century, Mount Predigtstuhl was a popular tourist destination with hikers, as well as skiers and snowboarders from all over Germany. Due to the frequent absence of snow on the slopes, the ski resort was working with disruptions.

An interesting fact is that private investors were going to build a 55-meter statue of Jesus on the mountain, which would be 22 meters taller than the famous sculpture in Rio de Janeiro. In 2008, the concept of a future new attraction was presented, but the local town council decided not to change the landscape of the Alpine summit.
