Bad Staffelstein. Obermain Therme
Obermain Therme was opened in 1986, in the northern part of the spa town of Bad Staffelstein. The first thermal springs only appeared in the town in 1975, so the resort is relatively young. The source of water that came to the surface has a temperature of 52° C and 9% mineralization.
For the first 10 years, more than 850,000 tourists visited the thermal springs. It became clear that it was necessary to create a large thermal complex. So Obermain Therme was built with its pools, treatment procedures and other wellness activities. The new complex is constantly developing and expanding, and the last major update was in 2014.
Obermain Therme hosts various entertainment shows, theme nights, and “weeks of health” with an intensive course of treatment. A visit to the complex costs € 25, without additional services, such as massages or other spa procedures.
Obermain Therme is served by its own power plant that uses biomass energy.
