This small town is 33 kilometers west of Stuttgart, Germany. Due to its provinciality, Calw is not spoiled by modern buildings, and a walk through it is more like a visit to an open-air museum. The rotating camera in the center of the town shows us the historical development of Calw. If you see some construction equipment on your screen, it is engaged in restoration work, not in erecting new buildings.

Among the wide range of classical German houses presented in this picture, you can identify several unusual buildings. This includes a building with two pointed towers, which is home to the town choir, Aurelius Sängerknaben, founded in 1983.

Calw has a thousand-year history, but because of fires in the 17th century, almost no orginal buildings older than 400 years have been preserved to the present day. But, the restoration work has saved many houses and bridges (in particular Nikolausbrücke) across the Nagold River.

We are looking at Calw from the central station. To the east of the station are the new districts of Calw, where modern buildings are situated, such as the City Center Calw and the municipality.
