Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Panorama of the City from the District of Harvestehude

We are looking at the center of the second largest city in Germany from the northern district of Harvestehude. You can see Hamburg’s sights in the background. Thanks to high-definition pictures, you can see all the details of the main city buildings.

Let’s go from left to right. On the horizon is the neo-Gothic tower of the church of St. Nicholas. The construction of the stone church began in 1335 and, before that, a wooden church was here in the eleventh century. The modern church was built in Hamburg in 1874 and was the tallest building in the world for two years.

This is Radisson Blu Hotel, a four-star 108-meter hotel, which is the second tallest structure in Hamburg. It was built in the early seventies of the last century.

Finally, there are two more buildings that deserve special attention, the office building, Emporio (the height is 98 meters), and the television tower, Heinrich-Hertz-Turm, the height of which is almost 280 meters and is the highest building in Hamburg.
