Garmisch-Partenkirchen District. Wetterstein Ridge

The camera in the alpine hut Meilerhütte is installed at 2,374 meters above sea level. The hut is open to travelers from mid-June to early October. In the cold season, few people dare to rise to such heights. There are 81 beds for tourists for 22 euros per day (the price can be twice cheaper if you are a member of the club Deutscher Alpenverein, but you still have to pay for the membership).

Despite the fact that the cabin has a German address, we can confidently say that it is in Germany and Austria at the same time because the rocky ridge of Wetterstein is the border between the two countries.

The ridge includes several giant mountains of Germany, the highest of which is the Zugspitze. It is almost three kilometers high.

Meilerhütte is one of the many huts in the Wetterstein Mountains, so any tourist can get comfortable lodging for the night.
