Oberstdorf. The German-Austrian Border, on Mount Fellhorn

The slopes of Fellhorn, in the German resort of Oberstdorf, have long been the major destination for lovers of skiing. This mountain is used for skiing and snowboarding from the Austrian side too, but in Riezlern, the infrastructure is much more modest, due to the fact that the western slope of the mountain is less adapted for trails.

The camera is installed on the upper station of the Fellhorn-Gipfelbahn cableway and is pointed toward another lift, Möserbahn. In the background of the image, on a clear day, one more funicular, Zweiländerbahn, is seen. This ski area in Oberstdorf is interesting because at the top of Fellhorn is the state border of neighboring countries, do you see the fence on the right?

A large ski resort on Austrian territory is seen in the center of the screen. Kanzelwandbahn Bergstation is built at an altitude of 1,957 meters above sea level.

Many cable cars in this area also work in the summer months. The status of this or that lift can be observed on the site of the ski resort, Oberstdorf / Kleinwalsertal Bergbahnen.
