Oberstdorf. Mount Himmelschrofen
On your screens are the slopes of one of the Oberstdorf mountains, Himmelschrofen. The camera is installed in Berggasthof Riefenkopf. Himmelschrofen cuts the valley of the Oberstdorf resort into two narrow valleys, Birgsautal and Trettachtal. In both, there are several hotels where fans of skiing stay in the winter, and tourists traveling through the green Alpine meadows can stay in the summer.
The height of Himmelschrofen is 1,791 meters above sea level, which is much less than that of neighboring Alpine peaks. Many popular ski slopes are on mountains with a height of more than two kilometers.
On the screen, we can see wooded slopes of the mountain, the Trettach River running at its foot (hence, the name of the valley of Trettachtal), the veranda of one of the restaurants of Gotthend, and the mountain tops, located northwest of Oberstdorf, in the background of the image.
On Mount Himmelschrofen, you will not find casual and unskilled tourists because there are no paths on its slopes, so only experienced travelers dare to conquer this summit.
