Oberstdorf. Ski Stadium
Langlaufstadion Ried / Oberstdorf is a stadium for cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions, in the southern part of Oberstdorf. Periodically, it is used for big international competitions, but is mainly intended for tourist skiing. In the summer, it is often used as a parking lot.
From the stadium, several routes of various lengths, from 1.2 to 7.5 kilometers, were laid. Near the stadium is a manmade pond, the water of which is used for artificial snow, which helps to maintain the ski runs in warm weather.
Near the ski stadium are a few more entertainment facilities, such as the Oberstdorf Golf Club, Heini-Klopfer Trampoline Stadium, and the beaches of Lake Freiberg.
In the background of the image, we can see the slopes of Mount Nebelhorn rising above Oberstdorf, where funiculars are built. When you get to the top of the mountain, you can go back to town on skis in the winter or along the mountain paths in the summer.
