Oberstdorf. View from the Ski Jump
Erdinger Arena is located in the eastern part of Oberstdorf, on the side of Schattenberg Mountain. This complex is well known, because one of the stages of the Four Hills Tournament is held there. The most important event, in the world of ski jumping, has been held here annually since 1952. The other stages of this prestigious competition are held in German Partenkirchen and the Austrian cities of Innsbruck and Bischofshofen.
The modern complex of Erdinger Arena replaced the old ski jumping board, which was not in the optimal site, because the sun hindered athletes during most of the day.
We can see a big-sized jump, HS137, a middle-sized one, HS106, a few small jumps and a big grandstand. The camera shows not only the famous ski jumps of Oberstdorf, but also the panorama of the city and its neighborhood.
Tickets for the Four Hills Tournament go on sale in early September and are quickly sold out, so the tourists who are going to visit these prestigious competitions, need to think about their trip in advance.
