Samerberg. Launch Pad for Hang Gliders on Hochries Mountain

This camera is installed by the hang-gliding club, Gleitschirmclub Hochries-Samerberg, on the upper station of the cableway on mountain Hochries. The take-off deck and the main route for fans of flying are at the northwestern slope of the mountain. The opposite slope of Hochries ends right at the border of Germany and Austria.

Aviation enthusiasts can use the two-level cableway, Hochriesbahn, going to the top of Hochries from Samerberg. The lift is located in Greinbach and is built at the foot of the mountain.

Since there are no ski resorts on Hochries, the ski lift is open from spring to autumn. Once acceptable-for-flying weather sets up, the chair lift and cabin lift begin to operate there. You can enjoy the mountain scenery, as well as a restaurant on the intermediate stations.

Besides hang-gliding, hiking and biking are popular on Hochries.
