Samerberg. View of the Brannenburg Commune from Hochries Mountain
Another launch pad for hang-gliders on Hochries Mountain, this time with the direction of flight to the southwest. You can watch hang-gliders on the side of the Kitzshtein hills, but only from late March to early November. The rest of the time will be a panorama of snow-covered mountains and the German towns on the border with Austria.
Very often, the fog completely covers the ground in these parts, but on a clear day, Brannenburg village is easily visible in the center of the image. The first mentions of it date back to the beginning of the second millennium. Despite its small size and population, there are many things to look at in Brannenburg.
Like many European settlements, Brannenburg has its own castle, which provided opportunity for the development of this German region. Also in the village are old churches, buildings and other urban infrastructure with a long history. The full list of Brannenburg architectural monuments can be viewed here.
