Schwarzach. View of the Village from the Grandsberg District
The camera of Berggasthof Menauer Hotel on Mount Grandsberg shows us a panorama of the German village Schwarzach from a height of 850 meters above sea level. In the village are several monuments of medieval architecture, such as the Catholic parish church of St. Martin, Market Square and the sanctuary of St. Mary Dolorosa.
The village is known for its car museum, which presents thirty cars of different eras from 1928 to 1984. All of them are located in an area of 150 square meters.
For more than 100 years, the dance festival, Schwarzacher Schäfflertanz, has been held in Schwarzach where guests and residents of the city organize traditional Bavarian dances. This unique event is held every seven years (the next one is due in 2019).
But the main point of interest in Schwarzach is not in the village itself. The ruins of Degenberg Castle, built at the beginning of the last millennium, attract a huge number of tourists to this area of Lower Bavaria. The castle lasted not long, about 350 years, after which it was captured and burned.
On a clear day, on the left side of the screen, you can see the town of Plattling on the horizon.
