Willingen. Willingen Ski Resort
In 2007, Ettelsberg, a new funicular, was built on the 1.5-kilometer track of the ski resort of Willingen. The panoramic camera is installed on the lower station of this lift. We can see several ski lifts encircling Willingen on three sides. But, back to the main route that leads to Mount Eittelsberg.
The main ski slope of the resort has a height difference of only 240 meters, not the most outstanding one, so local routes will be interesting for beginners and average fans of skiing. You can get to the beginning of the routes in just five minutes, and you can observe the whole community from the panoramic cabs of the funicular. At the very top, there is another good viewing point, a 59-meter observation tower and a restaurant with an open terrace.
Tourists try to combine a visit to this ski resort with the days of the World Cup in ski jumping. In Willingen, the ski jumping board is located at the Mühlenkopfschanze Stadium, in the southern suburb of the community.
A ticket to all the lifts of the resort costs only 28 euros (in popular Alpine resorts the price is usually two times higher).
