Breuil-Cervinia. Plateau Rosa Glacier

The camera, on the border of Italy and Switzerland, is installed next to one of the ski lifts of the Cervino ski resort. The Alpine mountains and its ideal tracks can be visited even in the summer; its cable cars and mountain lakes are seen on the screen. The unique opportunity to ski or snowboard in the summer in Breuil-Cervinia appeared thanks to Plateau Rosa.

The first ski lifts appeared there in 1938. The first skiers used these slopes in the 1960-70s. Italians and Swiss like to visit the glacier. The cableway network can take you to Plateau Rosa from Zermatt.

The glacier not only has ski slopes but also other attractions, like mountain caves. There are also several meteorological stations, laboratories, and border points.

On different slopes of the glacier, for the convenience of tourists, you can find mountain huts, such as Gandegghütte, Rifugio Teodulo, and Rifugio Guide del Cervino (the latter can be seen on the screen). They are built at an altitude of more than three kilometers above sea level. Despite their unique location, the cost is not very high. For 95 Swiss francs, you can stay there overnight and have breakfast and dinner too.
