Desenzano del Garda. The Town Port

This webcam is located in the port of the beautiful ancient Italian town of Desenzano del Garda. The entire history of Desenzano del Garda is closely related to the development of this important part of the town. The present-day port lies near the Piazza Giacomo Matteotti, from where local ferries and cargo ships are operating.

The old port was opened under the times of Venetian Republic and was used for transportation of food and other goods. Today, the port is moved to the Piazza Giacomo Matteotti, while its beautiful old building now represents one of the most popular attractions of Desenzano del Garda.

In the left part of the picture, we can see the Faro di Desenzano Lighthouse. It was built in the end of the 19th century during the reconstruction of the port.

Today the port of Desenzano del Garda is also open for private yachts and boats, as well as for small holiday cruisers.
