This webcam is located on the beautiful and faraway island of Lampedusa.

Formally, this island is a part of the Sicilian province. Informally, being the southernmost part of Italy and Italy’s southernmost island of all Italian islands, Lampedusa lies twice as close to Tunisia, as to Sicily with its famous mafia.

Population of the island is quite modest, just some six thousands. This island could seem to be a perfect place for a great summer vacation, right. However, you have to think twice, as far as present-day Lampedusa has become a prime transit point for immigrants from Africa, the Middle East and Asia
