Malcesine. View over the Garda Lake

This webcam is located in beautiful Malcesine, which is a popular resort on the eastern shore of the Lake Garda. Malcesine attracts people with its great tourist infrastructure, as well as with many significant historical and architectural sites. The Castello Scaligero is the symbol of Malcesine and its most prominent landmark. It is a sure “must see” for every person visiting this wonderful town.

Ancient fortress, built on this rocky cliff in 568, was destroyed by the Franks several centuries later. What we can see today, are remnants of the 13th-century fortifications and an older medieval tower built on the same place. The Castello Scaligero was named after the della Scala family from Verona, who ruled the entire region in the 13th and 14th centuries, and owned the castell over 110 years.

Let us go back to the present days now. We are observing the coast of the beautiful Lake Garda. This webcam belongs to the Sporting Club of Fraglia Vela Malcesine. This is a training base for world’s leading sportspeople, as well as for Paralympic athletes.
