Misurina. View over the Lake

We are now looking at one of the largest lakes of Cadore, a historical area located in the Italian region of Veneto. This beautiful lake is called Misurina, and it represents one of the major local natural attractions for tourists. In northern part of the lake are situated several guesthouses and hotels.

The Misurina Lake is a popular destination for recreation. Thanks to pure air and healing climate, it is very often visited by persons with respiratory diseases.

Beautiful mountains, which are surrounding the lake, are also quite noteworthy. For instance, in the right upper corner of the picture we can observe the famous mountains of Tre Cime di Lavaredo.

This place attracts many enthusiasts of ski and snow, thanks to close proximity of the Misurina Neve Skiing Resort. Actually, the whole history of the Misurina Lake is associated with the history of Italian sport in general. This is here, on Lake Misurina, were held the speed skating events during the 1956 Winter Olympics. A part of the famous Dolomites Gold Cup Race track is as well located here.
